    Test Code Fire Assay Price
20X Gold and Silver Fire Assay - for trace to ore grade minerals, a standard fire assay for rocks, soils, drill core, or gold pan concentrates. Crucible fire assay with metal oxide collector and x-ray spectrometer finish. Reporting range: 0.001 oz/ton to 100 oz/ton. Send 1 Lb. sample. 29.17 gram test. $45.00
30X Gold and Silver Concentrate Assay - For production concentrates over 100 oz/ton in heavy sulphide concentrate, rich copper ore, nickel, arsenic or zinc concentrate. Reporting range: 0.01 oz/ton to 1,000 oz/ton. Crucible fire assay with 1 hr. pre-roast or acid pretreatment as necessary; gravimetric or x-ray spectrometer finish. $90.00
90X Gold or Silver - Filter residue, experimental samples, other non-mineral material. $105.00
..... Hallmark Assays - Please request a copy of the assay certificate from the manufacturer before drilling a hallmarked bar. Carlsbad, CA 92008
    DETAILS:

    • Please air dry moist samples for several days before packaging to avoid extra drying charge.
    • Add a memo (or use optional order form) indicating tests required for each sample, a mailing address for the report and payment.
    • Payment with order is required to begin work. We accept personal checks, company checks, money orders, travellers checks. (Sorry, no credit cards).
    • International orders must include payment drawn from US bank, US money order, or US currency sent at sender's risk.
    • Send up to 1 Lb. of mineral for testing. A 1 Lb. sample allows multiple tests on the same sample. For client-prepared samples, the minimum amount of sample pulp required for spectrometer analysis: 30 grams. Fire Assay: 60 grams.
    • A written report will be mailed on completion.
    • Prices are per sample of dry mineral and may be subject to change without notice. Platinum group tests occasionally may be temporarily delayed due to current workload or supplier backorder. Orders for those tests may be delayed but completed as soon as possible.
    • A sample may consist of rocks and soil, multiple rocks, or any combination of naturally-occurring mineral. If shipping multiple samples - please mark each sample container with sequential numbers or letters for identification. Samples in individual containers are presumed to be separate samples and are tested separately unless instructions to combine them are included.
    • Please allow wet samples to dry before shipping. Please break rocks to 3" or less.

    OPTIONS:

  • E-Mail Report:Include e-mail address, add $3.00 per package of samples for e-mail report - recommended for all international orders. This option requires a readable, valid, working e-mail address with spam blocking turned off, no passwords and all spam filters off, with mailbox capacity for a small PDF file, or report delivery will default to postal service only.

  • Fax Report:Include fax number and add $6.00 per package of samples for report by fax to lower 48 U.S. states; fax not available for international orders. This option requires a valid fax number with a functional fax machine ready to receive incoming calls between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Pacific Time at the phone number supplied or report delivery will default to postal service only.
  • One original copy of report is always mailed in addition to electronic delivery.

    SHIPPING SAMPLES:
    • Please retain some of the sample for your records, and ship only a portion of sample for testing. Never ship the entire sample, in the event it may be lost in transit. Appointments for in-person sample drop-off are not available.
    • Samples of sand, soil, or small rocks may be sent in thick plastic bags (freezer bags) and shipped Federal Express, UPS, or mailed in a padded envelope or box. Heavy rock samples over 2" across should additionally be wrapped in newspaper, bubble wrap, or cloth and boxed to avoid packaging failure in transit. All samples must be dry for faster turnaround and to avoid drying charge.
    • Sample delivery may be acknowledged by e-mail inquiry to: labfire @ lycos.com
    • Lab turnaround estimate is not a firm deadline; rich or complex ores and concentrates may require more time. Prices are per sample for basic assay data reported in ppm, troy oz/ton, or percent. Prices may change without notice except price in effect at sample shipment will apply regardless of price change before or after sample delivery.
    • All tests are destructive and are not appropriate for gems, meteorites, or other objects of high intrinsic value. Exploration assays are not intended for Environmental (EPA), Food and Drug (FDA), or commercial transaction. Determination of the suitability of data for client's objectives remains the client's responsibility. In placing an order, it is understood and agreed that our entire liability is limited to $20.00 per disputed sample regardless of circumstance.
    • The states of Nevada and Arizona recommend as a minimum that each party or their geologist independently select multiple samples for assay, review engineering and cost reports with a registered mining engineer, obtain a preliminary title report or BLM records to verify ownership of minerals, and have all transactional documents reviewed by a mining attorney before deciding whether to invest.

    WHEN TO EXPECT TEST RESULTS:
Current lab turnaround: 10 to 14 days.
Processing time depends on quantity of samples shipped, sample moisture, current workload, among other factors.
If we are able to complete your order in less time, the report will be sent earlier.
If you move to a new location before receiving our report, please provide your new mailing address promptly to avoid delay.

    INTERNATIONAL ORDERS AND PAYMENTS:
We recommend DHL or Federal Express for all international shipments, with reports sent by e-mail. International payments can be made by check or money order drawn from a US bank. Please mark customs declaration value: "None", and "Mineral specimen for testing only". Please remove organic material - plant debris, leaves, roots, twigs, insects, etc., from sample material and dry each sample thoroughly.

EXPERIMENTAL COMPOUNDS, METAL POWDERS, PRODUCTS, OTHER NON-MINERAL SAMPLES:
Please notify us if the sample shipment is non-geological. If a product or processed material is submitted, please include two calibration standards from the same material, for each element sought. If no calibration standards are included with non-mineral samples or if processing the order would consume extra time or be economically impractical, then we may not be able to process the sample shipment.

    SAMPLE STORAGE:
We strongly recommend that clients submit only a portion of sample for testing and retain the remaining sample material for reference or future testing. Sample pulps are stored for 30 days. Rejects and excess material are discarded during sample preparation. Samples received without instructions or payment are stored for 30 days. Mineral pulp (powder) absorbs atmospheric moisture after exposure to air, changing weight ratios of elements to matrix and chemical reaction in pulp, which makes prolonged storage of pulp inadvisable.

    SAMPLE/PULP RETURNS: Not Available.
Before shipping samples, client should retain a substantial portion of each sample. Sample pulps cannot be returned. All samples and pulps become the property of the laboratory on delivery.
