Into the Dragon's Den
Pride guides my hand
I open the door
Cold venom stings my face
around me many yellow eyes
light the darkness
transfixed, hungry predators
the fetid stench of their breath
held still in the dampness
that glistens across my skin
the fear thick in my heart
but, there beyond my grasp
an unrivaled wealth bewitches me
my fingers stretch towards it
and the sword hangs limp at my side
metal talons tear into my tender flesh
lisping of forked tongues
bristling of glassy scales
in shadows around me
as I stumble over old bones
and shake my head to dispel the trance
my sword now awake in defense
again, the reflection of beauty ensnares me
calms
and I remove bloodied barbs
continuing towards false hope
leaving red footsteps, pace unfaltered by pain
dagger-toothed muzzle clamps onto my chest
I hear
the ripping of flesh
the snap of breaking bones
and the drooling moans of others
waiting to join the feast
yet, I feel not pain nor fear
all I can see is the bright promises of gold

Autumn Leaf feather-leaf
rides air current gently swaying and floats(falls)to water sending tiny ripples across once-still glass to break final barrier embracing life
(becoming one with its creator) to die.
Mother Earth
Molten iron pearl beneath vast blue
Orbits the sun predictably.
Terra Mater, our Life-Giver
Her fertile form ever-changing,
Ever-spreading and subducting.
Renewal, turns the sacred wheel.
Eager to nurture, love, and give,
Auroras delight while she sleeps,
Regardless of ungrateful acts,
That poison, betray her slowly,
Her heartbeat still keeps us alive.
Vamp Love
When I went
quietly
into the night,
black leather
embracing cool mist.
You suspected.
When I drank
your essence,
savoring
honey-sweetness
liquid satisfaction.
You wondered.
When you felt
hungry
for surprising sins,
needing more
than my love.
You understood. (and still you loved me)
