In a nut shell there are two supported modes that we have tried and both appeared to work reasonably well –
First a little background on the projector:
1.
The projector supports a maximum of 1280 X 1024
resolution via it's 2. The projector supports a maximum of 1024 X 768 resolution via its VGA port

In case #1, we connected an HDV camera (Sony HDR-HC1) directly to the YPrPb inputs – looked very good In case #2, I encode a file using the Windows Media Encoder (I used Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 for editing and then selected 720P WMV encoding). The file was then played from the club’s laptop hard drive (WinXP and the laptop needs to be at least 2.4GHz and SDUPS’s is 2.6GHz) using Windows Media Player, via the VGA port and displayed on the projector. Windows Media Player renders the file optimized to the 1024 X 768 display, and it looked pretty close to the same as Case #1.
We tried a third case using a scan converter to convert VGA to YPrPb at the 1280 X 1024 resolution. Functionally it worked, but the quality was not acceptable. (The scan converter seemed to “fuzz” up the picture) . |
